Reedem [Child!Naruto/You]

Naruto hastily wiped away the tears that threatened to spill from his eyes with the back of his forearm. “Stupid Iruka-sensei…”

You gave the boy a sad smile, crouching down to the boys level. “Naruto…,” you placed a hand upon his head, soothingly brushing his hair back. “There’s always next year.”

He batted your hand away angrily. “You sound just like Iruka-sensei, Name!,” he shouted. “I’m gonna make him give me a hitai-ate! You’ll see!” Naruto clenched his fists at his sides before storming off.

“Naruto!” You ran a hand down your face, sighing. That boy was too hot headed for his own good sometimes.

“Naruto!” You swept the boy into your arms, cradling the back of his head as you held him against you. “Never scare me like that again!”

You felt as if your world came crashing in around you once you got word that Naruto had stolen the Scroll of Seals. “What were you thinking?!” You wanted to shake some sense into the boy but instead tightened your hold on him, “You could have gotten yourself killed!”

“Name!” Excitement laced his voice as he wrapped his arms around your neck. “Iruka-sensei was so cool!”

You glanced over his shoulder towards the academy teacher, who was leaning against a tree waiting for the medical-nin to arrive. “Thank you, Iruka-sensei,” you closed your eyes, taking a deep breath as you finally gave yourself permission to regain your composure.

Iruka gave the two of you a tired smile as he leaned his head against the tree. Naruto… Naruto was certainly something else. He would make sure to properly reward him once he is released from the hospital (there was no doubt in his mind he would be spending at least a week thanks to the nasty gash on his back).

“Naruto, Iruka-sensei.” You greeted as you stepped into Ichiraku.

“Name!” Naruto grinned, jabbing a thumb towards the hitai-ate that adorned his forehead. “Look what Iruka-sensei gave me!” Naruto grinned.

You smiled while Iruka sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, blushing.

“That’s wonderful Naruto.” You took a seat next to the academy teacher. “How about I treat both of you to ramen to congratulate you?”

“Alright!” Both Naruto and Iruka-sensei grinned at each other before flagging down Teuchi to order another round.

You suppressed the laughter that bubbled at the back of your throat. Despite knowing your wallet was going to get hit hard, there was no where else you would rather be at this moment.

“Make that 3 bowels,” you held up your hand to Teuchi after they both shouted their orders.

You rested your chin on the palm of your hand as you listened to Naruto tell his tale of how he saved his sensei from the evil Mizuki (with several interruptions from Iruka - “Hey! It didn’t happen like that!”) while you waited for your food.
